Urban Agriculture

Grow Pittsburgh

Grow Pittsburgh develops and supports food-growing initiatives and programs across the region as a key way to improve the social, economic, environmental, health, and educational realities of people in their community. They teach people how to grow food through school garden curriculum, teacher trainings, workforce development for youth, adult workshops, and other resources. They also grow food for their community through their urban farm sites, providing affordable, chemical-free fresh fruits and vegetables at their farm stands and through donations to free food distributions. In 2022, this work was greatly aided by their expansion into Wilkinsburg via their newest production site, Garden Dreams Urban Farm and Nursery. Lastly, they build and support gardens for K-12 schools and communities throughout Allegheny County.
