National Organic Coalition (NOC)

The National Organic Coalition brings together diverse organic stakeholders to advance organic food and farming and to ensure that organic integrity is maintained, consumers’ confidence is preserved, and policies are fair, equitable, and encourage diversity of participation and access. 

Membership is open by invitation to farmer organizations, non-profit consumer, environmental and animal welfare organizations, and businesses dedicated to organic integrity, including retailers and certification agencies. NOC members develop policy positions using a consensus process and have representation with Members of Congress through NOC’s Policy Director, Steve Etka. NOC represents more than one million citizens, farms, and businesses through their member organizations.

National Sustainable Agriculture Coalition

The Organic Agriculture Research & Extension Initiative (OREI) and the Organic Transitions Program (ORG) fund research, education, and extension projects to improve yields, quality, and profitability for producers and processors who have adopted organic standards. ORG’s focus, however, is on supporting existing and transitioning organic producers to adopt organic practices and improve their market competitiveness.

The Organic Agronomy Training Service is a collaboratively managed training program for agricultural professionals working with organic or transitioning farmers in the United States. They seek to grow domestic organic production by strengthening the educational support network of agronomists, certified crop advisors, extension agents, and technical service providers. They aim to equip transitioning and organic farmer with robust access to technical service expertise by providing unbiased, science-based agronomic support for their farming operation.

Organic Produce Network

Responding to double-digit growth in the fastest growing retail food category, the Organic Produce Network was founded in January 2017 to connect facets of the organic produce community through education, information, and live events. 

Organic Produce Network releases a State of Organic report, which provides a comprehensive overview of how the industry performed the previous year, including data and analysis of retail sales of organic fresh produce.

Organic Trade Association

Organic Trade Association serves as the unifying voice of the U.S. organic industry on Capitol Hill. They aim to advance a mission to promote and protect organic agriculture and trade through legislative and regulatory advocacy. As the only trade association working on behalf of the organic sector, they build and retain meaningful relationships with Members of Congress and their staff, USDA’s National Organic Program, NOSB, and the FDA on food and farming policy. U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Climate Hubs

The Northeast Climate Hub is building network collaborations and partnerships, connecting stakeholders to climate-related resources, and working to fill in information gaps where needed. The 12 Northeast states form a diverse and complex agricultural region, including the seven most densely populated states that are also the most heavily forested region of the country. Production is varied with vegetables, horticulture, fruit production, and specialty crops supplementing dairy, poultry, and field and grain crops.
